We decided on two Forester XTs. Gray for me, white for the wife - I am jelly as the white one looks awesome
After discovering S# mode, I was sold :). Wife too

I have knowns people who keep the family to very similar cars, but this is the first time I’ve actually seen someone do as “His and Hers” pair.

Congrats! You going to do anything to differentiate your more from hers (or vice-versa)?

My mother had a boss who had his and hers W221 S65 AMGs. He was quite loaded until the divorce.

I love foresters, especially earlier models. Probably favorite Subs. And Bajas. Many boners for bajas.

I love the Forester XT; the adult’s WRX!

That is literally the cutest thing ever.

Thanks! We shall see... I am already spending all my tuning money on my Abarth, but new exhaust, 1" lift, beefier tires, some armor might happen sooner or later

We both happen to like the same car :)

I do like old ones, with STI parts, but I only drive new or newish. I wish these came with a manual, but paddles and s# mode are pretty cool.

It is! I love the WRX but I need more room for dogs. She just likes higher driving position.

Hah thanks, I'll let my wife know :)

I wish... I did haggle them a bit - msrp was 31k or so, we paid $27400

Get a Brat for balance!

Haha that’s really cool, hope you guys enjoy them.
I was at the dealer one day picking up a few parts and this guy came in with his wife to pick up matching M6's.. His a white grancoupe (6MT!!!) and her’s a white convertible.

Now that would be awesome!

His-and-hers beigemobiles (though the 2.5XT isn’t that beige, haha) are somewhat common in my neighborhood, so this isn’t that unusual for me to see. That must’ve cost you quite a bit though, LOL. Congrats!
I didn’t notice that the 2.5XT doesn’t have a hood scoop, despite its TMIC, until now - my eyes usually go to the front bumper.

Congrats!

I do miss the hood scoop, but the front bumper is nice and distinctive. Only thing in the market that would come close to this size , price and performance is the Escape 2.0 ecoboost with 240hp, and I trust Subaru more than Ford.

Any planned mods? I'm sure the wife's ride would look SWEET with some black accents.. Very storm trooper-esque.

CONGRATS!!!!! Enjoy your awesome new rides!

I keep telling her I’ll be putting some Storm trooper stuff on hers :). She wants LEDs over the inter-cooler inlets in the bumper, they look pretty tight.

Thanks!

Do they work with the same key? (Do they even have keys?)
I would swap my wife's key with a spare of mine, just because.

We each got three keys, two real ones and a valet key. I doubt they would work with the same key.

very nice!
only 1 problem with them.......
neither of them is mine!

Awesome! I love for the Forester XT even though a lot of enthusiasts don't. They look great though, congrats!

Haha, thanks! They seem to be good cars, get one!

Ps. My best buddy in Serbia drove a Samara for years. He sold It a few years ago and got a Peugeot 206

Very very awesome here!
We loved almost everything about the Forester!
Only deal breaker was the lack of power from the base engine.
They didn’t have an XT to try. I bet its a lot better

Night and day - I would not buy the 2.5i Forester with the CVT ever. I did consider the 2.5i Premium with the 6 sp manual to eek out all the power out of it, but then I figured, eh, you only live once. Difference was about $5-ish grand. But the visibility, room, and storage is hard to beat.

Thats why we liked it so much.
My mom loved the ride height, huge windows, sunroof, and general roominess. But the engine was miserable.
Sadly there isn’t one XT on any of the lots by me right now. Being down in Florida though, Subarus are a hot commodity.
Might be worth looking into again though.
